Sketchup Designing
The Jones Trust is pleased to announce the construction of a new 2.75-acre Mountain Bike Skills Park on The Jones Center campus in downtown Springdale. The new Bike Skills Park will be named “The Runway” with the intention of capturing the imagination of cyclists and due to its adjacent location across Emma Avenue from the Springdale Municipal Airport. The Bike Skills Park will have three skill development lines, a pump track, a children’s bicycle playground and pavilion. “The Runway” park is made possible by a $1.1 million grant from the Walton Family Foundation.
“The Runway” Bike Skills Park will allow children of all ages to come to a safe location to develop the necessary abilities to manage the outdoor trails system being built around the region. Programming will include workshops, hands on instruction, and local competition where beginners to highly skilled cyclists can hone their skills prior to taking to the natural trails around the region.
“The Runway” will be designed in collaboration with Ozark Off Road Cyclists and Crafton Tull, with additional design/installation support from numerous area cycling groups. There is further survey and planning work to be done on the Bike Skills Park before a ground-breaking date can be announced.
